Fun concerts, heavy motivation.
Here at Piano Player's Workshop by Jon Scholl, we give each student the opportunity to perform at 4 concerts every year — each with a distinct theme, ensuring students always have a new, inspiring performance goal on the horizon. Here's what we have in store for 2026!
MOVIES IN THE YARD
Students will perform their favorite iconic film and TV themes — from Studio Ghibli to John Williams and Hans Zimmer. This concert will take place outside with big screen projections behind every performer. To end the concert, students will score a silent film live with their original compositions!
WINTER HOLIDAY CONCERT
Student's will be performing holiday classics, along with pieces of their choosing that they've been working on throughout the semester. Festive treats and great music are always a great way to end the semester.
PLAY WITH A BAND! CONCERT
Students become part of a rock band for the day — sitting in with professional guitar and bass players, a drummer and a singer — for a full-band experience most young pianists rarely get. Students get to learn songs by their favorite bands and singers, a great way to learn about chords, lead sheets, and chord charts. They also learn how to be a skilled keyboard player and not just a pianist, learning how to use new pedals, play other sounds, combine them in fun ways and maneuver between them during performances.
SPRING CONCERT @ MANSHIP THEATRE
Sponsored by O'Neill's Music House, students get the chance to dress up and play a full grand piano on the big stage. A fancier event, student's get to choose any repertoire they want and sometimes work all year long on those pieces that they play, providing a fantastic exclamation point to end the school year.
